“Beyond” legitimate science or just nuts?

Gaia

Kali, whose followers call themselves “thugs,” a term that has become a byword for bizarrely treasonous, violent persons.

Those who worship environment, Earth, ecology—in short, the cult of habitation—have historically found Hollywood-worthy methods of sacrificing their fellow-men in hopes of rain. Talk about your fair-weather friends! So is it unreasonable to expect Al Gore’s cadre of sell-out “scientists” to put a tax on carbon dioxide emitted from breathing even though global cooling and not global warming is the only thing that has actually threatened life on Planet Earth? (And no, no legitimate scientist [and not even very many Earth-worshipping Pagans such as Gore] will claim that warming is part of cooling or vice-versa.) Look at the facts:
1. A breathing tax is the logical end-game of the élite’s draconian and diversionary policies, such as Cap and Trade, that Gore and company passionately champion.
2. History shows this can happen to a slave-minded, religiously rootless people.
3. Al Gore is demonstrably a dangerous psychopath, which would explain the Weather Channel’s president filing suit against him for his obvious falsifications and blow-hard orations.

But I am not a right-wing nut either. I can appreciate the metaphorical liveliness of the Earth, how it is poetically a mother, how it romantically connects all living things with its waterways. When cast in a light that is whimsical, fanciful, playful and generally childlike, it is quite edifying indeed! This is hidden (lest the imperialist pig recognize and quash it) in much of fairyland, folk tales, fantasy and is an excellent exercise in wonder. This is embedded in our cultures deep within our subconscious and is verbalized chiefly by old wives for times when a culture humbles itself.

But there is a world of difference between a healthy sense of humility, wonder and harmony, which is what legitimate folklore encourages, and unreasoned horror, despair and distrust of parents, which is what deep ecologists, infiltrating the schools and the media, try to foist on their often young, impressionable hearers. That is why I do not embrace the chronically homicidal followers of Kali (whence the term thug arose), Gaia, the Mother Nature/Earth Goddess etc. because, with the historical record as my witness, they are counterintuitive at best and ritually homicidal at worst.

Pagan indoctrination sequence

The first assumption in the show is that the Christian Religion is “evil.” Of course you would have to make a lot of assumptions about the nature of both religion and evil. Flashy intros are great at helping the mind make the needed leaps.

“Our world is in peril.
Gaia, the Spirit of the Earth, can no longer stand the terrible destruction plaguing Our Planet.
She gives five magic rings to five special young people.
From Africa, Kwame with the power of Earth.
From the North America, Wheeler with the power of Fire.
From the Soviet Union, Linka with the power of Wind.
From Asia, Gi with the power of Water.
And from South America, Ma-Ti with the power of Heart.
With the five powers combined they summon earth’s greatest champion:
Captain Planet!”
